When Keight and Jon came to me to create a wedding in a fully operational boat building yard, I was keen to take on the challenge. Throw in a private boat trip to Stradbroke for the beach ceremony and the fact that they currently live in Myanmar and were flying in for the wedding and challenge became epic! But what a truly amazing wedding to be apart of.

Hailing from Canada it was Jon’s one request to be married on a beach, and the beautiful beach at Adder Rock on Stradbroke Island didn’t disappoint. With rain coming down all morning it was touch and go but the sun came out to provide the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous couple to be married in front of our spectacular heptagonal arbour.

Having grown up on the boat building yard Keight didn’t want to consider having her wedding reception anywhere else and this unique venue provided the perfect inspiration to create this fantastic industrial chic wedding. 

Touches of metallic gold and black, geometric shapes, stunning native flowers and some ‘one off’ feature boat pieces came together to create a magical day for this gorgeous couple.
